Who we are · ስለ እኛ
A community of Christ-followers,
equipped and sent.
Addis Kidan — New Covenant — is a Lutheran congregation rooted in the Ethiopian and Eritrean tradition and planted in San Francisco. We worship every Sunday, learn the Scriptures, and serve our city.
"እኛ ግን የተሰቀለውን ክርስቶስን እንሰብካለን…"
"…but we preach Christ crucified…"
1 ቆሮንቶስ 1:23·1 Corinthians 1:23

What we believe · እምነታችን
Anchored in Scripture
A short summary of the convictions that shape our worship, our community, and our mission.
01
Humanity
All people are created in the image of God, intended for eternal relationship with him. Sin separates — but does not have the final word.
02
The Christian Life
The Ten Commandments guide; the Holy Spirit strengthens; prayer sustains. We are forgiven through Christ when we repent and turn to him.
03
The Good News
God loves you with an incomprehensible, undying love. Jesus went to the cross so nothing would separate you from God. The gift is free.
04
Sacraments
Baptism and Holy Communion are gifts from God to the church. God meets us in the water; Christ gives himself in the bread and wine.
05
Worship
Worship is the meeting place of God and his people — both historical forms benefiting the church through the ages and forms as new as today.
Our faith.
Our practice.
Our way.
